JOHN SHEA
John B. Shea, 83, of 2732 N. Court died at 2 a.m. to day, June 12, in Ottumwa Manor. He was born March 3, 1896, in Blakesburg to William and Gertrude Fritz Shea. He was a retired farmer and cattleman. He lived in Ottumwa for 14 years. He was a former Blakesburg resident. He was associated with Purebred Hereford Cattle Association. He was a member of Elk Lodge 347 in Ottumwa and Ottumwa Country Club. He married Valerie Hoeven Dec. 18, 1965, in Moline, Ill. Survivors: his wife; a daughter Patricia Erland of Ottumwa; and two grandsons. Services: 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Jay Funeral Home with Father Hugh McGinley of St. Joseph Hospital officiating. Burial: Blakesburg Cemetery. Christian wake service: 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Jay Funeral Home.
