The following death notice appeared in the Ottumwa paper, the Ottumwa Courier, in its 13 January 1939 edition, on page 13, column 2.
Former Ottumwan Dies Following Auto Crash
Mrs. Tracy Baker Succumbs In Maryland Hospital.
Mrs. Tracy Baker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Shea of Blakesburg and sister of Mrs. Patrick Maloney of Ottumwa and John Shea of Blakesburg, died about noon today of injuries sustained Tuesday in an auto accident near Hagerstown Md. Death occurred in the Washington county hospital at Hagerstown. Mrs. Baker, formerly of Blakesburg and Ottumwa and for several years a resident of Detroit, was riding with her husband at the time of the mishap. Although she received an arm fracture and five rib fractures, doctors did not consider her condition serious. Death is believed to have resulted from shock. She was born and reared in Blakesburg, later attending high school in Ottumwa. The body will be taken to Blakesburg for burial.

RITES TUESDAY FOR MRS. BAKER
Former Ottumwa Woman Fatally Injured In Maryland Auto Crash.
Funeral services for Mrs. Tracy Baker, former Ottumwan fatally injured in an auto accident at Hagerstown, Md., last Tuesday, will be held at the Patrick Maloney home, 316 North Jefferson Street, at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday and at St. Patrick's church at 10:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. B. J. Decker. Burial will be at Blakesburg. The body of Mrs. Baker, formerly Miss Alice Shea of Blakesburg, is at the Maloney home. Besides her husband who resides in Detroit, Mrs. Baker is survived by her parents Mr. and Mrs. William Shea of Blakesburg; a brother John Shea of Blakesburg; a sister, Mrs. Edna Maloney of Ottumwa, and a niece, Patricia Alice Shea of Blakesburg.
