Alice Evelyn Barnholdt was born in Cass County, Iowa on 25 October 1892, to John Henry and Mariah Patton Barnholdt. She died in Atlantic, Iowa on 24 February 1965. She was buried in the Atlantic Cemetery in Atlantic, Iowa.

Services Held for Mrs. Beebe, Mother of Leah Chadwick

Mrs. Alice Beebe, wife of the late William Sherman Beebe, died at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon, February 24 at the Heritage House in Atlantic. She had been a patient there for two weeks. Mrs. Beebe was the mother of Mrs. Keith Chadwick, of Storm Lake, formerly of Anita. Mrs. Beebe was born in Cass County, 25 October 1892, the daughter of John and Mariah Patton Barnholdt and was married at Sac City on August 4, 1921 to Sherm Beebe. They lived in Wiota prior to moving to Atlantic in December 1948. Mr. Beebe died January 17, 1940. She is survived by the daughter, Mrs. Keith Leah Chadwick|(Leah) Chadwick of Storm Lake; two sisters, Mrs. William Linke of Atlantic and Mrs. John Spies of Elk Horn; three grandchildren and one great grandson. She was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 27, at 2:30 at Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic. The Rev. L. E. Gatch of Farragut, formerly of the Anita Congregational Church, officiated. Mrs. Kenyon King accompanied Mrs. Harold Smith as she sang, "In the Garden" and "Rock of Ages," Casket bearers were Marvin Taylor, Charlie A. Foster, Bruce Blake, Paul Mailander, Henry Hoover and Bill Jacobson, Burial was in the Atlantic Cemetery.

Notes

Alice's "three grandchildren" were the children of her daughter, Leah Marie Beebe Chadwick and Leah's husband Keith Chadwick. The children were Judy, Jolene, and Brad Chadwick. The "one great grandchild" is undetermined.
