Obituary

Death of Hazel Fritz

Relatives in this city received a telegram yesterday from Denver, Colo., stating that little 13-year-old Hazel Fritz, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Fritz, was dead. Death took place yesterday morning about 9:00 o'clock and it is not known what was the immediate cause though, the little girl suffered from a complication of diseases. The remains are being brought to this city for interment and will arrive about 4:00 o'clock tomorrow afternoon on the Burlington. Funeral announcements will be made later.

The parents of Hazel Fritz died several years ago, her father at Blakesburg and her mother in this city. Their son, Clell, together with his sister, has been cared for by a Mr. Miller, an old friend of the family, residing near Albia. Clell will arrive here today to meet the remains which are being brought here in the care of Mrs. Dora Fowler, grandmother of the deceased, and Mrs. Sadie Smith her aunt. Mrs. Smith left Saturday for Denver on receipt of the news that little Hazel's condition was serious but did not arrive in time to see the little girl alive. Mrs. Fowler went West with Hazel last spring.

Sadie Smith was Sadie Lane Smith.
