Town of Blakesburg was incorporated 1900 and the first mayor was Charles A Goodspeed. The Treasurer William Fritz and the Clerk was H. M. Woodford.

The Milwaukee Railroad was built there March 18, 1886 and the first trains to pass through Blakesburg December 31, 1887.

1st William Fritz — 2nd Henry Fritz 3rd Frank Fritz opera house dancers and Show Troupes came for several nights showing Vaudeville + later Silent Movies.

Blakesburg Park and Band Stand was erected 1935 -- Fritz building removed and well located for fire protection.
