Obituary

Funeral services were held for Nellie May Lundahl in St. Johns Chapel, Pasadena, California Monday, February 17. She passed away at her home February 13, after a lingering illness.

Nellie, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Schalkle came to Earlham from Coal City, Illinois at the age of seven years. She spent her girlhood in Earlham, graduating from high school with the class of 1922.

She was united in marriage to Clarence Fritz of Dexter September 22, 1926. They went to California to make their new home. After twenty happy years together her husband passed away suddenly in October 1946. Nellie then shared her home with her father for a number of years.

On September 2, 1955 she was married to Willard Lundahl of Los Angeles, who with her father and brother, Earl survive her.

She united with the Earlham Presbyterian church in early girlhood and remained devoted to her Christian faith throughout her life. Patient and uncomplaining through many months of failing health she constantly amazed her friends by her courage and cheerfulness at all times.

She was preceded in death by her mother and two sisters, Irene Schalkle and Violet Hoadley.

Final rites were conducted by East Pasadena chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and she was laid to rest in Forest Lawn cemetery at Glendale, California.
