William Sherman Beebe.

ATLANTIC — Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p. m. at the Roland, Peacock and Baxter funeral home for William Sherman Beebe, 58, who died Monday at an Atlantic hospital after suffering a stroke on Wednesday. The Rev. C. M. Orcutt of Anita will officiate. Bural[sic] will be in Atlantic cemetery.

Beebe was born at Anita Jan. 26, 1890, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Beebe. He lived in the Wiota vicinity all his life until he moved to Atlantic in December, 1948. He had been in the gasoline and oil business here for several years. He was married in San City Aug. 4, 1921, to Alice Evelyn Barnholdt. He was a member of the Atlantic American Legion.

Survivors are widow, Alice Beebe; one daughter, Mrs. Keith Chadwick of Anita; one sister, Mrs. William Johnson of Cambridge; one brother, A. J. "Bert" Beebe of Atlantic, and two granddaughters.

Atlantic Oil Dealer, Sherman Beebe, Dies

Atlantic, Ia.—Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p. m. at the Roland, Peacock & Baxter Funeral Home for William Sherman (Sherm) Beebe, 58. He died Monday at an Atlantic hospital after suffering a stroke last Wednesday evening.

Mr. Beebe was born at Anita, Ia., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Beebe. He lived in the Wiota community until moving last December to a new home he built in Atlantic. He had been in the oil and gasoline business in the Atlantic area for a number of years. He was a World War I veteran and a member of the Atlantic American Legion.

Survivors: Wife, Alice; daughter, Mrs. Keith Chadwick, Anita; sister, Mrs. William Johnson, Cambridge, Ia.; brother, A. J. (Bert) Beebe, Atlantic; two grand daughters.

Former Anitan Succumbed Monday

William Sherman (Sherm) Beebe, 58, recently of Atlantic was a former resident of Anita and a long time resident of the Wiota community died at 10:25 Monday morning, January 17, at the Atlantic Memorial Hospital, where he had been since last Wednesday after suffering a stroke. "Sherm" Beebe, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Beebe was born near Anita, January 26, 1890 and when a small lad moved with his parents to the Wiota vicinity where he lived until last December when he and his wife moved to their new home on East Seventh Street in Atlantic. "Sherm" as he was known to his host of friends had been in the gasoline and oil business many years. He was a World War I veteran and a member of the Atlantic American Legion. He was married to Alice Evelyn Barnholdt on August 4, 1921 at Sac City. He is survived by his widow and one daughter, Mrs. Keith Chadwick of Anita, a sister, Mrs. William Johnson of Cambridge, Iowa and a brother A. J. (Bert) Beebe of Atlantic, two grandchildren, Judy and Jolene Chadwick. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, at 2 p.m., at the Rolan, Peacock and Baxter Funeral Home in Atlantic and Rev. C. M. Orcutt, pastor of the Congregational Church in Anita officiated. Burial was in the Atlantic Cemetery.
